Google Lets Businesses Add Social Media Links To Profiles

Google has made it possible for companies to directly include social network profile links in their Google Business Profile.

Businesses can now incorporate a social media presence with other data in Google Search and Maps thanks to this new feature.

Businesses may provide customers more options to connect, get information, and find solutions by making their social media links on their Google Business Profile available.

Rollout of New Features

Businesses may now choose which social media links are displayed on their Google Business Profile, according to a new Google help page.

Businesses can add one link to their Business Profile on each social media platform. Among the supported platforms are Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube.

In certain places, this feature is already accessible and is being introduced gradually.

Using the New Feature

Businesses must access their profile, then “Edit profile,” then “Business information,” and finally “Contact” in order to add a social media connection.

They can choose the social media platform they want to link under “Social profiles” and type the URL.

The process for changing or removing the link is comparable.

Businesses must alter the web address entry for the specified social media link in order to edit a link. Click the “Trash” icon next to the social media profile that has to be deleted in order to remove a link.

Google occasionally automatically updates qualifying Business Profiles with social media links. Businesses can add a new link for the same social media platform by following the identical instructions in order to change these automatically added links.

How This Affects Businesses

The addition of social media connections is another way for local business owners to enhance their exposure within Google’s ecosystem.

The presence of social media and website links with local search results is now expected by clients. Now, chains can be challenged by small and medium-sized businesses by providing a seamless consumer experience.

Businesses may add a single social media link to as many Business Profiles as they like, but they cannot add multiple connections from the same platform to a single profile.

On Search or Maps, you can control this feature for each individual business, or you can use the API to handle several locations at once.

Please take note that Google does not give performance analytics for certain social media connections, such as click rates.
